Proverbs 31:27 “She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.”
As wives and mothers our home is our primary ministry. Every home will look very different but creating a welcoming atmosphere for our husband, children and guests is something we should strive for. Not a perfect, spotless, “instagram worthy” house but a home. One can make a home anywhere. A home is a place that is lived in, played in and most of all loved in.
Planning can be so helpful in all stages of life. When surrounded by little ones, when homeschooling different ages, or with young adults in the home. But we have to also be ready for those days where nothing goes according to plan!!! Proverbs 16:9 “The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps”
I hope that as I share some of the things I have learned and tried during my 24 years of mothering you can glean something that may be useful to you in your service to your family.
While planning might seem like a daunting task to some it can help us make better use of our time. Meal planning releases the stress of scrambling daily for what to make. Trip planning can help prevent forgetting important items (ie diapers, the very needed baby carrier or even a child!!!) and curriculum planning is just plain fun. May the Lord bless you as you strive to honour and glorify him in your home.
