In light of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share some books that have impacted me as a wife. This book was gifted to me 15 years ago (just before I was married – thanks @sarahhales). For the first few years of marriage, I went back to it over and over. We have used it for premarital, discipleship, a book study, and it is still a constant friend. I remember so vividly sitting in our California apartment struggling with being a new wife in a strange place wanting so badly to honour Christ in my role, and this book helped me immensely.
Martha helped me see that everything flows from an understanding of God. She taught me about love, submission, intimacy, conflict, and communication (something my husband excels at). This book truly helped me lay the groundwork for being a godly wife (I still have so far to grow). I’m forever grateful for Martha, even though she didn’t want to write this book. And I’m forever grateful for the Titus 2 Women at @gracecomchurch that discipled me and showed me these principles in action.
It would have been much more difficult to put these truths into place had I not seen them on display in real life relationships. If you are a wife, you have been given a gift from God as you live out Biblical Principles in the power of the Spirit for the glory of God – this book helps you apply those beautiful Scriptures. Pick it up if you haven’t read it!
