Erin’s Audio Adventures! I’m so far behind in posting my audiobooks. We have been on vacation so I’ve been trying to stay away from social media a little bit. I just loved this little book, “Simplified Organization” by @mystiewinckler . In this book she really does help you to “learn to love what must be done”. Even though I have been a homemaker for nearly 20 years I was so encouraged and refreshed by this book. Mystie really deals with the heart of a homemaker (aligning it with God’s Word), which I LOVE. It is also very practical as she weaves her own experience of raising 5 children. “Let’s be real. Homemaking is harder than we thought it would be” as Mystie says. Her book breaks into 3 parts which will help you gain a greater vision for homemaking, spur you on to do your ministry to the glory of God, and deal with your heart along the way. In Part 1 she answers questions like, “why am I overwhelmed?”, “what is perfectionism”, “what is homemaking”, “what is productivity?”, etc. In Part 2 she goes through 6 Steps Toward Skillful Homemaking, and Part 3 she talks about Loving a Homemaker’s Life.

Do you feel burdened, overwhelmed, or just plan discouraged in your homemaking journey, friend? Grab an older woman and go through this book. Even if you have been a homemaker for decades, I’m sure you will be blessed by this book and may even find you have a great discipleship resources as you train younger women to love their husbands, love their children, and to be pure, sensible, kind, workers at home who are subject to their own husbands —Titus 2:5.

Homemaking is not a second rate job (no matter how much feminists attempt to shame you), “Our homes matter because people matter, and our homes are where people are built.”—Mystie Winckler

Thank you, Mystie, for spurring on my own ministry of homemaking.
