On the back of the book @joshbuice comments that “Social Justice is one of the most devious and destructive movements the Church has faced in the last hundred years.” I wholeheartedly agree.

In Canada, our nation is entrenched in Critical Race Theory. It flows from the highest level of government, down through our policing system, woven throughout our educational classrooms, and of course has poisoned the local churches. It has done irreparable damage. But what is it? Where does it find its roots? Is it really that dangerous? If you reject it, are you rejecting Biblical Justice and are merely just an unloving racist who is trying to cling to your white privilege? Is white supremacy entrenched in our systems? What is white supremacy? Is racism inherent to white people? Is this really a gospel issue? Are there true threats to the black community? What are they? How do you know you’re standing on a Biblical interpretation on what is happening in the western world? What is a Biblical response? What side of the fault line are you really on? That’s where this helpful books steps in. Voddie helps define and explain the ideology of the movement and how we are to respond it. With a gospel-centre focus Voddie, like a wise teacher, walks us through what is happening as the ground is moving beneath us.

I love Voddie’s heart in this book, you hear his heartbreak as he watches the ideologies he has spoken against for decades become entrenched in the universal Church. He says this book is his clarion call to unmask the ideology of CRT/I in hopes that those who have imbibed it can have the blinders removed and contend for the faith.

I cannot recommend this book more highly (I know, I say that all the time – but it’s TRUE). Even if you disagree, I hope you’ll pick up this book; it might be the most important one you’ll read in while.

This is a topic I intend on studying more, up next: Christianity and Wokeness by @profstrachan and What Every Christian Needs to Know About Social Justice by @jeff.johnson1689
