I am so very thankful for @profstrachan and the work he has done in The Warrior Savior. Dr. Strachan has taken out the gem of Christ and shown us His magnificence and beauty through His person and work. Dr. Strachan shows us how from the first book of the Bible to the last, Christ is the Warrior Savior and His atoning work is the “hinge of history”. Not only does Dr. Strachan give us an overview of the atonement in Scripture but he shows us how “All the Christian life and mind is shaped by atonement theology.” The book ends with common objections and misconceptions about the atonement, equipping us to think more critically. One of the things that I loved about this book is we tend to think of Christ in His first coming merely as the Lamb and that He will return in judgment as the Lion, but Dr. Strachan shows us how, “it is gloriously true that Jesus died as the slain Lamb for us. But Jesus also died as the head-crushing Lion.” And how these realities are not to be pulled apart, and he shows us the implications it has for our lives. Dr. Strachan is obviously a man who thinks deeply about Christ and His atoning work, and it comes out in his writing, I had many worshipful moments going through this book. I commend his book to you.
